World of Warcraft passes the 8 million player mark

World of Warcraft ..

Although I test games as part of my work, I sort of ignored about World of Warcraft (aka WoW). I wasn't sure if Blizzard will be able to create an online game and also wasn't convinced about their user conditions including allowing only one account per cd key whereas most other online games gave away the game for free and only charged for usage online.
But after hearing so much about the game and seeing so many people competing for hours to gain higher levels with added glory of best looking suits and weapons, I finally decided to give it a go and purchased four accounts to see what the hype was all about...
You probably would have guessed it ... first, its a graphically interesting to say the least with bright far landscapes and detailed environment you will expect from Warcraft 3 if you have played the game before. Soon as you start to play, you realise there's little fuss at playing this game with minimal effort at trying to figure out what's best way to upgrade the user's skills unlike others which requires you to tweak dozens of different conditions known as strength, stamina, dexterity etc.
We'll I'm on level 9 now and still haven't figured out even 5% of the whole game... This game is HUGE, immersive and definitely worth trying out .. but be warned .. you may need help to get over your addiction to your new world!

Art Of Living

Just completed the one week intense course run by Art of Living organisation. It was simply amazing experience. It was the first time I did proper meditation and yoga and also the first time I stayed vegetarian for more than 5 days.
Although I can't describe about the course in so much detail, basically it has huge effect in getting people to de-stress, have more positive view about life and affect people around them positively thus enjoying what we always want to achieve but never seem to ... which is finding true happiness in life and enjoying it every moment no matter what the circumstances maybe.
Hope those who read this try to find more about the organization and course and give it a try and experience for yourself. I'm certain you won't regret it.

Speed Killz ...

I'm not talking about on the road. Simply we want faster internet. No matter how fast it is now. Just few years back we would have settled for unlimited dial up account but when we had 512K leased line, it was shocking!! We almost ran out of things to download.
But times have changed. With so many websites with multimedia contents and fancy, high detailed graphics, with so many dynamic contents as well as streaming video and audio, 512K leased line seemed like turtle .. just not good enough. We were surprised at how slow it felt when we tried it out just a month ago. This was before we even tried to play online games.
Now we have 1024K wireless net. Couldn't believe how good this was. We could download, browse and play online games without feeling much drag ... until we had a bunch of people who saw the opportunity and tried to do the same at the same time :P
So it's back to the same conclusion .. we simply never get enough internet speed. When we increase the speed to 2Mb next month, maybe .. just maybe we can say we have DA SPEED for a while.

BATTLE IT OUT

It's my job to find and test the best of the latest games for my customers but sometimes you come across games that you can't find any better for a long time. If you go way back, Quake and Doom was like that for a while but considering its a series that kept it alive and not the original piece, it cannot be said to be that long. Starcraft and Warcraft 3 was quite long lived and still loved by many and so is Counter Strike : Condition Zero. There was quite a bit of lapse in games to replace them for a while until Battlefield 2 came by. It's just awesome at the scale at which you can control and interact with the environment and fellow gamers online. As long as the PC you have can keep up, it's almost impossible to get tired of this game ... and yes you need quite up-to-date PC to play this. We had to upgrade our PC as well as Internet just for the sake of playing this game and similar. Entry level P4 and Geforce 4&5 series just couldn't play at all ...
Ok back to my BF2 after finishing off some work quickly...

My First Time

Oh My GOD!!!

My first time!!! Amazing! Sexciting! (over-rated??) Anyway, this is my first try with a blog and certainly I am finally part of online bloggers thanks to my geekie friend Roneel!

I spend almost whole day in front of PC and I'm saddened to see that I have one more reason to stay in front of it ever more. (Another excuse I can use on my GF ... hehe ...)

Alright. For those who come by this site, keep posted for more up close and personal info on wazzup in Fiji and where I am ... SKYNET!
